\n-Justin was Hannah's first kiss, but he spreads a rumor that more happened and that causes Hannah to have a reputation for more which isn't true and that causes what Hannah describes as a snowball effect, in which everything goes out of control.
\n-Alex came to the town as a new student the same summer as Hannah and they hung out for awhile until he found other friends and dropped their group. They were friendly towards each other in the hallways and such at first, until he made his list. The list was labeled FRESHMAN CLASS-WHO'S HOT\/WHO'S NOT and on his list Hannah was listed for having the best ass in the freshman class, but he didn't do it as a compliment to Hannah is was done to slanderize another girl to whom he labeled as having the worst ass in the freshman class. It doesn't seem like something to kill yourself over but the list caused others to view Hannah differently, and it enhanced the reputation set by Justin.
\n-Like Alex and Hannah, Jessica was a new student during the same summer. They formed a group and hung out after school as a way to talk about things to help each other. Jessica and Alex ending up dating and then tehy broke up, which is why Alex made the list. Which Jessica was the opposer to Hannah. Then because of the list Jessica began to hate Hannah and they got into a huge fight. Ending their friendship.
\n-Tyler's reason for being on Hannah's list seems a little more practical, he was a "peeping tom" Hannah caught him spying on her through her bedroom window and taking pictures of her. \n-Clay is a teenage boy who recieves the tapes from the girl he liked who committed suicide, and goes about trying to figure out why. Because he is characterized as the good guy and he is shy and sensitive.
\n-Justin seemed to be sweet, sensitive and caring. But that wasn't good enough and so he spread a rumor and ruined someone elses life.
\n-Alex appeared to be a good guy but in the end he was two faced and a back stabber.
\n-Jessica at first was a nice girl and caring and understanding. But then she gave into teenage drama and became a bitch.
