2. Peeta has confessed his love for katnis. Haymitch is coaching peeta and katnis in the games. Gale is Katnis best friend from the sceme. Katnis sister is Prim. She loves her. Effie trinket is a lady from the capital that is helping peeta and Katnis.
3. That Peeta confessed his love to Katniss at the interview for the games infront of everybody watching instead of just telling her to the side. Peeta joining the carrers allience in the game was also very shocking. The reason why is just we didnt see that comming.
4. That Peeta was in love with Katniss. The reason why is because they talked about him watching her in the school yard and he gave her the loaff of bread.
5. Eric : I am enjoying the book a lot. It keeps me on the edge and i can never exect whats going to happen. I cant wait to see what happens.
Seth: i am really enjoying this book. it has a lot of action and there is a lot of suspense which keeps me on the edge of my seat. i cant wait to see what is to come in the next chapters.

Summary chapters 1-15
Starting off in the book Katniss is a eightteen year old girl thats supports her family because her father died in a cole mine and her her mother went into a deep depression. She is very skilled at hunting, she uses this as an advatage in the games that she soon enters by voulinteering when her younger sister prim is called up to the stage to be entered into the hunger games to support her district. Katniss is put into a guest room in the city to say final goodbyes to her family and friends, and then put onto a train with the other kid called from her district, a 18 year old bakers son named peeta. The train brings them to the capital so they can be trained for the hunger games and try to get sponsers so they are able to get help/things during the games. The train soon comes to a hult with a thousand apon thousands of fans standing outside of it. Both katniss and peeta are taken into the capital and brought to their personal sweet for them to relax in and prepare for the games. They all try to talk about ways how to get sponsers and important things to remember during the games and before them. They soon have to introduce themselves to the crowd by riding chariets down a street in clothes that represent their district. The guy who dresses them thinks of an amazing idea for katniss and peeta. He dresses them in fire resistant clothes and light them on fire to show the pure heart the district twelve players have, and that they have fire inside of them, and it causes them to get seriuos sponsers. Every player trains in the training room the harness they skills if the dont have one and to improve it if they already have a skill. then they are sent out again to a room with just their skill there to show the head people how good they are at their skill and gain even more sponsers but from the ones that basically control the games. Soon they are again intervued but this time individualy and they get asked questions and tell things about themselves before they are sent into the games. They try to get sleep that night before the games but they have trouble and get up in the middle of the night to stare out the windows at the crowds all around them parting throughout the night. The next day they eat to preprare themselves for the games. They are all sent to different rooms and put in this glass case that elevates them up to the arena floor. They are all brought up to a feild sourounded by woods with a crashed plane in the middle with supplies scattered all over in and outside of the plane. They are all lined up in a almost half circle, 24 players-24 plates to stand on and the clock is counting down. The gun goes off telling the players to start, they all run towards the plane except katniss and peeta, Katniss grabs a small bag of supplies and fights with another player which is then killed by the other player with the throwing knives. Katniss gets up to run away and the girl throws a knife at her but misses because katniss blocks it with her bag. Katniss escapes into the woods. Near the plane is a blood bath, the players are killing as many as they can before they set off into the woods with the weapons that they have obtained. After looking carefully throughout the woods katniss finds a tree in which she climbs and straps her self in so she dosent fall out to take a nap without haveing to worry about other players for the time being. Latter that night another player lites a fire to warm herself up and is killed by the carrers. Katniss realizes where peeta has been, He has joined the carrers and he is the one who had killed the player that night.
There are many different areas that make up the world of panem in this book. There is the capitol which is the main part of panem. The people in the capitol dress in elegant clothing and have an abundance of food. The rest of panem id made up twelve districts. Most of the districts live in poverty because the capitol is punishing them for a revolt that happened years ago. The district that katniss and peeta live in, district 12, is the most poverty stricken district. Many people of district 12 die of starvation because food is very scarce. Then there is the arena. The arena is where the hunger games take place. The setting of the arena changes each year.
The author wants to show the reader that the government has all the power and can change their part of the world anyway they want. The people can be controlled by the government and can be made to do life threatening things if the government ever wanted to have full control. The government controls the life of its people and can sacrafice them in anyway necissary weather its for good or just for fun (like the hunger games). The government makes its people dependent on eachother so they can not survive without the others help. The government can control the food supply distributed throughout its people, they can give them just enough to live or make them work for small emounts extra or take life chances to obtain more.
One non- fiction part of this book is the government being a dictatorship. A dictatorship is a government with one ruler with absolute power. The president of the capitol is the dictator of all of panem. He makes many of the decisions that affect panem. Because of the revolt that happens years before he forces one boy and one girl from each of the 12 districts to compete in the hunger games where they are forced to fight to the death. This is one example of how much power he has as a dictator.
